Aha! Where are Apollo Four and Verbtones playing?! I am not leaving until Sunday!

Yeah, I'm not going to Portland.
But would be nice to see a proper post regarding that other show.

I hope everyone has an amazing time and there is a very large, enthusiastic, home-town crowd to celebrate Satan's Pilgrims!

All I'd like to add to that is hopefully there'll be video of the proceedings.

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

So wish I could be there!! Have a BLAST everyone!!

Yes... VIDEO PLEASE!

I seen some pic on Facebook. How was it? What was the set list like?

It was great! Set included most of the classic Satan's Pilgrims songs, originals and a few covers.
Included but not limited to:
Vampiro
Que Honda
Devil's Punchbowl
Surf Lyre
Boss BSA
The Godfather
Shit Sandwich

The Scimitars

Love me a "Shit Sandwich"! anything from "Psychsploitation"? Any videos anyone? I knows its really soon, but please post some when you can. I'd enjoy 'em.

It was a phenomenal night - the mighty Satan's Pilgrims always bring it. There were no Pyschosploitation tunes - no organ for Dave to switch to on stage. I didn't keep a setlist either. But, no matter. These guys clearly have a great time playing together. That lineup of three Showmans and a Bassman is certainly powerful. Ted was flinging candy to the assembled zombie throng throughout the set.

It was great to meet Ted Pilgrim before the procdeedings. It was also great to ride the rail with Jonpaul, Marie, Ran and my wife Carol. John (Tuck) was also there with his brother and his wife and was going to try to do his usual yeoman's video duty - we shall see. Certainly fine seeing some of the SG101 crew on SP home turf on Halloween! I did miss seeing Brian's usual smiling face though :) You lucky stiffs going to the SF show will have a super time.

Next up, The Verbtones and The Apollo Four on Saturday.

I think they did (I'll Love You More than) In the Past from Psychsploitation.

See you Saturday, Homerick!

I took a bunch of videos but I have not had time to go through them yet. They were rocking the place last night; looking forward to seeing the show tonight in SF.

These are mostly "over the video" (without flash) using a feature of the Sony HDR HC9 video camera. The venue didn't allow flash shots anyway.

Vampiro & Plymouth Rock

Thanks Tuck.
The lights at that show were way better than the SF show.
But I think the sound at SF was better from those who went to both.

The sound I got is definitely bass heavy and guitar light. This is at least partly due to me being close to the stage (so maybe too close under the suspended house sound) and on the bass side of the amp row. I used the Sony minishotgun set on 120 degrees, trying to capture as much as possible from close without going to omnidirectional and getting lots of crowd. Maybe I should have gone with the internal mic. There's no way to get a good comprehensive view from close in if you're in the middle. The crowd was such that I couldn't have gotten anything from further out in the middle anyway, and lack of planning put me on the bass end of things. Hindsight is 20-20!

Darren said he thought the sound was actually a little bassy over all, but he was centrally placed in the balcony and I hope he'll have a better balance.

Wish I could have seen both shows or this show from both ends of the stage, but there were nice pluses to staying the weekend in Portland and I enjoyed the hell out of the show.
