They ain't makin' these babies any more! Check out my Ebay listing for a great 3-pickup Jerry Jones Danelectro-type Neptune. I purchased it used in the early 90's, so it's an older one. Great guitar, only minor dings in the finish. The 3-pickup one is the best, because you get the cool out-of-phase sounds in positions 2 and 4.

Hi! Welcome to SG101. That's a really nice guitar and all, and someone really might be interested. But joining up and offering an item for sale as your very first post COULD easily be misconstrued. I hope not. It isn't like you listed an ad for insurance or anything. I genuinely hope you like it here. Would you mind introducing yourself a bit? Thanks!

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

I'm happy to introduce myself, Noel, and it was not my intention to post in any shady manner. I'm a longtime guitarist from Connecticut who plays a twangy style along the lines of James Burton or Al Anderson. I'm not a surf musician per se, though I've opened for Dick Dale a couple times. I do love the music, spring reverb, and vintage gear, and spend half my life reading guitar forums on the net. Honestly, I've never sold a guitar before, but I figured if anyone would be interested in this instrument, it would be a surf player. I'm not a guy that comments a lot in forums, but I'll do my best to make the occasional intelligent comment here on in. And I've got no other gear to sell. Keep rockin', brother!

Late getting to you, buzzgordo, 'cause I was out the door 'till 2 AM after I wrote. Philly may be close but it's still a long drive after a show!

You opened for Dick Dale! More than once! You're in some elite company with several others here. I'm sure there are stories you could tell. Hint Big Grin

What a character Dick Dale was! My band opened for him at Toad's Place in New Haven twice in the mid-90's. The funniest thing is that he refers to himself in the third person - he'll say stuff like "No other guitarist can play with strings as heavy as the ones Dick Dale uses," or "Dick Dale melts 30 picks per show." But despite his huge ego, he was a great guy. My band was a bunch of nobodies, and he was super respectful of us, and really encouraging. And his playing is superhuman - incredibly fast and aggressive, with strings the thickness of piano wire.

And if you've seen him, you may have noticed how he suspends his reverb unit by a rope from the ceiling, so the stage vibrations don't mess with his sound. The fact that it floated in the air made it seem like some religious icon, which I guess it was!
