My garage sale finds today included three instrumental albums. You almost NEVER find ANY surf in New Orleans, let alone in the good condition these are in. My first thought was "what the hell?"

It's finds like these that still make it worthwhile. Nice score!

We too. So very chill and good! Looking forward to the forthcoming Mermen release as well.

I don't have this yet, but even with all the great new records coming out, this looks very interesting.

Long-Lost Honkers & Twangers from ACE Records

Just picked this one up on vinyl. Some Pat & Lolly Vegas, I believe.

Just found that one myself, plus these LPs:

The Original Surfaris one is so-so, but the other three are all pretty great. That Deuce Coupes LP is a lot better than the other Del-Fi hot rod albums, IMO.

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Right here!

I bought it in iTunes though so no booklet.

A++++

But but but, the book is half the reason for getting it.

Believe me, I know. I'll get a hard copy in the near future. I've seen one not too long ago.

Nick123, just curious...why did you purchase this on iTunes instead of ordering a brand-new, sealed hard copy through one of Amazon's affiliates for $7.53 (including shipping) more?

Insect Surfers
The Tikiyaki Orchestra
The Scimitars
Lords Of Atlantis
Fiberglass Jungle - Surf Radio

Jonpaul, maybe for the same reason that while living in San Jose, CA, he's got a Croatian flag in his signature. Wink (Sorry! Whack )

I'm really skeptical of that... it's labelled Surf Age Nuggets 1 (so maybe just disc 1?) and there's also a vinyl version. And it's also not coming out until November...

Truthfully? I needed it right then! Laughing And I had no idea the package came with that extensive booklet until reading the thread here but that's what I get for rushing.

Hah I'm 50% Croatian and thought it was funny!

Found this in the thread pertaining to it:

"Everything's been already said about this whole collection, and I can't add anything than that it's simply outta sight! Reading the liners, I noticed something I never knew - the lead guitar player and the bass player of Dave & the Customs, whose most famous song was the glorious Ali Baba (on this collection), were Croats! Croats in first-wave surf - yes! And with such an amazingly cool track, too. (Though I must say that I think the ultimate version of that song is by Fifty Foot Combo on their Evil a Go-Go album. Simply stunning.)"

This is something different. I'm talking about the first option when one clicks on "More Buying Choices - Audio CD" and then "$43.53 New," the first choice from cddvd4u from NY.

Ah! Welcome to another Croat (well, semi-Croat!) in surf music! I am one, as well.

You did. Now it's time to change your country emblem and start a Croat revolution.

After a very long gap, the Quiets are back in action! This CD is fantastic, as good as any of their previous excellent albums. Art B. of MuSick Recordings actually has a bunch for sale for (I think) about $15 plus shipping, if you want to get a copy - email him at musickrecordings@gmail.com I definitely recommend it!
