Today's show featured two outstanding bands performing live in the cozy KCR studio.

The Barbwires (Sweden) started things off and played for a good 30 - 35 minutes. The Barbwires are:

Drums: Jonas Rönnholm

A brief conversation followed the set. Jonas (a friend traveling with the band, not the drummer) and Micke talked about the band and the Nordic surf scene.

Then Mister Neutron (New Jersey) took the stage and played for an hour plus, taking a break to discuss Mister (not
Mr.) Neutron, east coast surf and the California tour.

Joining me at the KCR mic was the infamous Unsteady Freddie, representing NESMA and all things east coast surf. In addition to his radio shows, he made a special, first time announcement of a surf comp he's working on with Eddie Angel's Spinout Records.

Also in attendance to see the bands at KCR were Ran Mosecco (Astroglides/San Devils) and daughter Hanna (she was enthralled with BTD), Rick Wilkinson (Rickshaw Records and ex-Surf Report) and Big Tiki Dude, Jeff Hanson (Moby Dicks), and Mrs. Beachwood... my wife Sue, not my mom.

I did not get a set-list from either band, but will at some future date and make an addendum to this posting.

I continue to be impressed by the talent and kindness of bands in the surf community. It was a great "Day at the Beach!!"
