Although Apache is not a surf song—we’re all in agreement on that, right?—it is a popular instrumental song and obviously gets played a lot. As a public service to all SG101 members, here are a couple of tips when performing this song. How to perform Apache. How not to perfom Apache. Any questions? —More cowbell?? Nah...More Reverb!! |

For the record the ventures do not know how to play apache. They are so far away from the tone of the original its not even funny. The second video shows creativity and real talent. |

We were playing a gig at a backyard party once when an older man in his '60s came over from the next yard playing Apache on a mandolin. We let him sit in for the rest of the gig. —Ted James |
