This speakers are often used in cabinets with bass ports in speakers like the Mesa Boogie Theiel, or Marshall 4x12". They go a little deeper compared to vintage speakers or speakers cabinets with open backs. Are there anyone her using those?

I use these in my Twin Reverb and Deluxe Reverb. I also use the EV SRO-12L in my Pro Reverb and a 1-12 ext. cab. These are my favorite 12" guitar speakers without a doubt. At least in blackface Fenders and their clones.

Great bottom with very smooth mids and highs. Excellent power handling. My only complaint is that they are very heavy, even more so than JBLs.

Keep it Drippy Brothers and Sisters!

I have a cab with 2 of them, sounds loud and clear but the cab does weigh as much as a Twin Reverb. Surf guitar wizard Mr. Eddie Katcher has expounded on their superiority many times here.

YES!!

My absolute favorite speakers ever and forever!

IMO.

I have a pair in my '65 Bandmaster. Lots of clean headroom, great tone and they are pretty much indestructible. The original Oxfords (which I kept) weren't even in the same planet. The L-series EV's were sturdy enough that Mesa Boogie used them in the '90's Diesel bass cabs which a lot of bassists including Paul McCartney still use on stage.

BTW, the "L" in EVM12L (or 15L) stands for Long Excursion, not "Lead",contrary to popular opinion. There are "B" models that were designed for bass applications and there are also "S" (Short Excursion) versions that some guitarists prefer.
