This is very cool. But then I would say that.

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback
It was fun doing this tune.
HWho'd da thunk you can wrangle out a surf tune from a Doors tune

Welcome to the site EL34. We really don't have that many active members so it may take a few days before you get a response.
I get zero feedback and a bad feeling from the surfing101 forum
big difference between here and there
They are too busy arguing over whether you can really play surf music with humbuckers.

It's a slow community, stagnant in fact. Most of the frequently active posters like myself are snobby gearheads that secretly hate music. Like myself. We're generally a very grumpy community, sort of like a nursing home. Only, we dislike visitors.
So go away.
Oh, and welcome. You'll learn to like it here.

El,
I dug your rendition of the tune. It took a day to be able to get a connection here in Eagle ROck so I could play it though. What is the gear you used?

Thanks for the welcome.
One of my forum members said I should pop in here since I love surf music and have recorded a bunch of surf tunes.
I grew up with it being played in my house. My parents belonged to the RCA record club and had a ton of records. We had one of those giant stereo tube consoles with the combo record cabinet.
Anywho, was starting to think I had to create a post about humbuckers vs single coils in order to get a single reply here.
My gear?
Guitar -> Re-Vibe -> Stereo Tube preamp and some other stuff after this.
A Re-vibe is a Fender 6G15 reverb unit circuit + the Vibrato that was used in the 6G12 concert amp, combined into a single piece of gear
More info on that unit here

Here's a pic of my hand made tube gear

Here's a couple clips that demo the Re-vibe
The 6G12 Vibrato is much nicer than the tremolo as done with an opto isolator in the later fenders, imo

Re-Vibe dream -
1st half just Reverb
2nd half Vibrato and verb

Yeah, fender made some cool amps in the brown amp era but the vibrato was too expensive so they came up with the opto isolator tremolo which was very simple and had way less parts.
I still like fender amp tremolo, but not as much as the vibrato
It took two extra tubes and a bunch of parts to make the Vibrato
This page has the details on that

yeah, I am a big Doors fan to this day.
I don't run into many Doors fans, or at least they will not admit to it.

Nice work! Always liked that tune, even after I learned they borrowed some of it from "Leyenda."
Also, your avatar fucking s, dude.
