about to watch

color me obsessed -the replacements

has anyone seen this yet?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yY2q3mF5Tk0

Caught the recently released Evil Dead remake and thought it was very good fun. Won't replace the original, but better than any of the other current horror remakes. Saw a trailer for a film called, The Conjuring, which looks like a promising supernatural thriller and a new Seth Rogen and Co. apocalyptic comedy that looks to be pretty damn funny.

Twisted Evil > Angel

The last time The Beach Boys performed together as Brian, Dennis, Carl, Mike and Al. They sound great!

image

According to the intro, they all hadn't performed together for a while, and they never did again. Carl gives a wonderful tribute to Brian for all the music. And Dennis looks like he's having the time of his life.

I rented this from Netflix, but I think I want my own copy.

Completely random chance seeing this come on Cinémoi (Directv) this evening. Pretty interesting stuff. 30 second preview and the whole thing below.

From Cinémoi:

THE GOLDEN AGE OF FILM MUSIC: 1965-1975

Bullitt, The Thomas Crown Affair, Dirty Harry, Once Upon a Time in the West, Mission: Impossible…These movies contain some of the most fascinating original soundtracks, ones that have largely contributed to firmly anchoring the films in the collective imagination. Why are these soundtracks - which are indeed veritable movies for our ears - so strongly evocative? And what influence do they have on contemporary musicians?

New country, boy bands, new girl pop crap.

Just got done watching Bikini Beach. The "bar" band for this one are The Pyramids bald heads and all. The Exciters also did a number or two. (didn't see the whole thing) The big finish, though, is The Pyramids backing Little Stevie Wonder. unbelievably bad movie with great tunes from 1964.

I saw this in concert very long time ago when they originally toured the album. The film about making the album is fascinating.
