Hey all,
I just wanted to share 2 incredible new compilations that just came out called The Ecstasy of Gold. I believe they are vinyl only as of now.
The tunes are compiled from an archive of old unreleased spaghetti western soundtracks from the 60's.
The only samples I found online are some snippets here: https://soundcloud.com/experimedia/va-the-ecstasy-of-gold-23
2 of these comps have been released but there are another 3 more on the way. There are lots of surfesque moments here. Some of the most surreal reverbs I've ever heard too. It's mostly instrumental but the vocal songs are pretty good too.
I'm obsessed so I thought I'd share!
Eric

I wish they listed a track listing because I know I've heard some of the really good tracks on this as I'm a huge fan of the spaghetti western film genre.

These are a bit tricky to find but I have been spinning them at least once day. No Kidding.
I've listened to a lot of stuff in this genre but was only familiar with one tune on volume 1. I also have been googling some of the movies these tunes are from and it turns out you can watch most of these super obscure spaghetti westerns on youtube. very entertaining I do say!
I know track listings are hard to find on these:

I have these comps too! I'm obsessed with them! I've been hunting down a vinyl rip for the pod as it appears they don't exist. I would try my hand at ripping but slight warps at beginnings of three of the four sides have me reluctant to go through the process for unlistenable rips. Any interest in ripping these guys for the board? I'd say 750 pressed is way too limited a number for the quality of this material. My names Pierce btw! I play a 62 Jag reissue with a Twin I think I found my new message board home

I took a look at discogs and they have all five volumes listed. https://www.discogs.com/label/650125-The-Ecstasy-Of-Gold
Volume 1 was released as a CD in 2018. It looks to be a bit hard to find in the US though there are a few copies on ebay located in Germany.

Perfecting timing. I’m midway through reading that mega thread on spaghetti western music that was started back in 2006. Learning a lot here.
