Check the front page.
Also, check his review of April 2nd weekend shows.
I think most people don't notice the news stories and go straight to the forums.

Ran

The Scimitars

Thanks for the Road sign Ran, also thanks for adding to the review.
I hope people know about the news/reviews on the front page.
Also anyone can comment on the reviews. I don't see many comments on much of the stuff there.

OK I finally got around to watching the Deke Dickerson Guitar geek Festival DVD #2. Feat Nokie Edwards with Venturesmania
I must say that it was a bit better being able to see Nokie actually play, as oppesed to see his head above everybody elese head on stage, and not see the guitar at all.

I also have a dvd of the Ventures playing in Japan back inthe 60's, and I think that he was defentily in his prime back then.
Not saying that he's bad now, he's actually quite good for his age.
But I still have to stand by my original post and say I don't see what all the hub bub is about. Maybe it's just his style of playing.
But it doesn't get me all freaked out like some do.
Sorry if I offend anyone, but I don't call what he does, surf music.
But at the same time, I'm not putting him down for playing that way.
He's great at what he does, and is definetly a instro music Icon, and should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame with the Ventures.
