That was great. I really appreciate that KFJC did the live feed. I got to see guys perform that I probably would not otherwise be able to see. I cannot travel at the present due to family reasons.

Talk to you later,
Norm

Did anyone save the video stream?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

I hope some people could watch and listen. It was a beautiful day. Perfect, really... Pacifica is known for it's constant fog, but it lifted before noon and the day was sunny in the high 60s, just, perfect!
The show went off largely without a hitch. Surf musicians are the nicest people around, truly respectful. Everyone kept to the time limit, and the diversity of sounds was tremendous.
I'll post more later, I am absolutely wiped out.

Great work, Ferenc! The day couldn't have been more perfect and you kept everything running smooth.

I hope the revenue we made for The Surf Spot was enough to offset the neighbor complaints. It would be great to hold on to that venue.

Thanks again for including us.

I wanted to, but could not figure out how. I think KFJC has it in their archives. Also think they will release a CD or DVD later. Heard something to that effect.

Later,
Norm

You can find the KFJC archives here
http://www.kfjc.org/broadcast_archives/

The battle of the surf bands is the dj Dangerous Dan from 1 to 5 pm on the 18th.

Later,
Norm

IT was amazing to watch and enjoy the bands with fellow SG101 members. Two thumbs up to all involved in making it happen. I hope the rumour of a cd/dvd is accurate as it would rock! Big Grin

I am not obsolete, I am RETRO.... Cool

I stayed and watched all but the last two bands before real life intruded. Again, I have to say what a remarkable improvement the live stream was this year. Multiple cameras, fade ins, crowd views, it was the next best thing to being there. I could watch it in medium quality and it was quite good. High quality was even better but there were frequent stutters and drop outs. At one point the little counter said there were 50 viewers of the feed. That's pretty amazing! Thanks Ferenc and Cousin Mary! And a big thanks to KFJC!

Cousin Mary,

Will KFJC be doing a DVD of this? I heard somewhere that they might in a few months.

Talk to you later,
Norm

Nice show! Totally worth the drive!

Great event and great people! Enjoyed every band and a good mix of styles. Loved the venue too. Thanks for putting the event on, it was fun.

KFJC will probably do a CD/DVD of the Surf Battle for our fall fundraiser. Here is the one for the Surf Battle 2 years ago, http://www.kfjc.org/fundraiser/store/surfcd_2011.html
