Does anyone happen to have the chords for "Storm Surf" by the Breakaways?

Thanks!

I don't, but welcome!

What part of NC?

METEOR IV on reverbnation

Here's a video lesson for the original Storm Surf by the Surfaris. Just a suggestion too, this should be posted in the Surf Musician section since it's a musician oriented question, that would be the area to attract the right kind of answers. Just a helpful hint. Yes Big Grin

-Damon.

Las_Barracudas: I'm in Goldsboro.

Damon: Thanks for the tip on where to post something. This is my first post to SG101. Smile Unfortunately, that is different song than the one I'm looking for. Smile Here is a link to the Breakaways song. http://www.amazon.com/Storm-Surf/dp/B0014CWTIE If you haven't heard it you should check it out.

Sounds like Mark Knopfler??

I used to have the chords for this song in my database (meaning in my head) but it's been a while...I recall the intro is Am ->F->G. I'll pick up the guitar later tonight and see if I still have the rest of it. If I recall, it's not all that tricky, but does require some careful listening.

You're not drunk if you can put your socks on while standing.

Welcome aboard, ozman83! Were you at the Instro Summit?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

I'm with you Las_Barracudas everytime I listen to the song I keep thinking I'm listening to Mark Knopfler.

Thanks Noel! Yes I was able to attend the summit on Friday. My friends and I even won T-Shirts for being the first ones there. Laughing

On Friday, yes, I was. I'm in the middle of this picture.

I sent the link for this thread to Craig of the Breakaways.

I was wrong in my earlier post. The Am F G is the start of verse. I'm trying to dig the rest out of the deep, dark recesses of my brain with Strat in hand.

Great idea, BTD! Hey,Craig! Agree

Ok, here you go:
Intro Bb - E7
Verse, am - F - G a few times leading to Dm - E7, Am-Dm-Am
Chorus: Bb - C - Dm (three times)
Play all that a few times and the outro is
Am-Dm-Am-e7-Am-Dm-Am
I think that is correct from memory, I'm on vacation in England for another week without a guitar! That's fairly close though. Enjoy and thanks for asking.

Well, this was perfect timing. We had worked out the melody to this one but were having trouble with the chords and were talking about it just yesterday!

Thanks!

Be at one with the universe. If you can't do that, at least be at one with your guitar.

And now I just realized that our rhythm guitarist is the guy who asked the question in the first place! So maybe it wasn't luck but it was still kindness on Craig's part to answer the question.

This is why you should look at every post before you jump into a thread! Yes
