Permalink Meet Nick Zinner(Cool Instro/Classical Hybrid)

Nick Zinner is the gutiarist of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Zinner is long one of my favorite guitarists. He has an amazing musical aesthetic, truly original. While his style is not that of Johnny Marr, I have compare him to Marr. Just an anti-hero on the guitar. He makes everything effortless.

He wrote this fantastic piece call "41 Strings", it is a 4-movement piece for 41 stringed instruments. I'm partial to Spring myself, I think they really killed it on that one.

What I like about his Yeah Yeah Yeahs work, is that even when he is just playing chords, it is something more than that. There is really something to it.

Going through these videos, some of them would make VERY good 'verb covers, especially 41 strings...

I'd love to see a classical piece performed in a big band setting, I think it could be fantastic.

IMO.

Thanks, Jake. I have to get out more, musically speaking. Keep 'em coming.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.
