I lived in Sun Valley for 5 years, been there yet?
I wish I could go back.

Ha I see some talk about Sun Valley Idaho, I played there quite a bit in the early 90's a pizza joint right on main street/downtown (Pioneer Saloon? I dont' recall the name) and The Mint (owend by Bruce Willis). In fact Bruce sat in with us a few times. The thing that I always recall in Idaho, was in the bathroom of the club I was playing was a saying "Idaho, but she was a bitch"

Yep, Idaho is a great place. Proud to say I'm a native--one of about 4 left, it seems. Not exactly the hotbed of surf music but still--no tarantulas, no active volcanos, only ocassionally see Bruce Willis--so it certainly has its redeeming qualities.

I used to live in Meridian - The quality of life in general there was great. We left right as they were adding stuff too, that sucked.
And yeah, sun valley was expensive - we had to live in a half finished house for a while, but the location made up for it.

I play in a Seattle are cover band and we consistently get 400 to 500 a night for three sets. (four of us with a female lead singer).
We all have day jobs that pay quite well and none of us need the money but it is important to get paid something. If you can wring it out of the venue find out what the bar take is on a big night. You would be surprised at how much booze people pour down their throats but you would also be surprised at a typical bars overhead.
For us, all said and done it is 5 hours set up to tear down so $20 an hour. Beats a high E string in the eye.
