Decided to sell my Magnatone M15A 2x12. Unique not only in it's appearance, but in it's true vibrato circuit. All other amplifiers of the time had not vibrato, but amplitude modulation...the signal got louder and quieter in an oscillating manner. The Magnatone actually oscillated pitch +/-, making it truly a vibrato. Magnatone amps are famous for this.
That sound in Southern Culture On The Skids' "Camel Walk"? That's it.
Great old amp...point to point, original Jensen C-12P's.
$500 + shipping & $25 crating/packaging fee from Wausau, WI USA.
Pics avail on request.

I always thought these would be neat amps to play through ... how are the volume and tone? Do they compare to Fender amps in those regards? How do you like the Magnatone for surf? How many watts does your put out (what are the power tubes, if you aren't sure?)

Yes, that's EXACTLY it.
It's a fun old amp. I dunno how it sounds for surf....great, I guess. I don't have a point of reference, surf bands are kind of rare up here in the northwoods of Wisconsin.
I do think that the vibrato sounds cool, and the verb is funky...sorta tanky and sproingy...
Could use a recapping, and is cosmetically about a 7. A ding here and there, but compared to most used Maggies, very very nice.
