All tango? The Great Tunguska Tango Event? Which leveled peccaries for miles in every direction around Formosa.

60 minutes of tango is like farting in a shoutbox. ;)

But keep them coming.

Let's see, Blue Tango, Twistin' Tango, Objection (Tango), Guitar Tango, La Cumparsita, and something by Melissa Sarmiento (a/k/a Didi Wray), maybe some sambas because it's from the same continent, ... Well, I don't have 70 minutes anyway. Of course, I haven't consulted anyone from Argentina yet. Or anyone who can dance.

Maybe a Latin rhythms theme instead?

I wonder if anyone would notice if nothing was in 4/4 time? I'm guessing yes.

Pretty sure I wouldn't.

Tonight!!!

Jeff(bigtikidude)

For themes, how about this:
A Surf Radio show recently did a twin-spin set of some original surf instrumentals backed with vocal covers by different bands.

One I can think of is Dick Dale's Misirlou which was derived from a Middle Eastern folk song (lyrics can be found here).

So wouldn't it be cool (or maybe not) to find out that there are lyrics to Mr Moto, Penetration, Mr Rebel, Bulldog, Torquay, Walk Don't Run, Latinia, The Endless Summer, etc.?

Thank you kindly. It's a mix I put together years ago for cooking Italian food. I just added the intro/outro/bumpers & WA LA! Instant pasta!

Whorehay, how'd you gain access to my old record collection? Great show. Wonderful! Loved it. Though I would have preferred 'Luck, Be a Lady Tonight', 'Fly Me to the Moon' or "I've Got You Under My Skin' (especially with the Count Basie Orchestra under Quincy Jones) to 'Mrs. Robinson' the whole thing is a delight.

I actually play this sort of music when cooking Italian food too. Thanks so much for the great show.

Thanks man! I also did a part two that contains one of those very songs, so keep those ears peeled!

Aw shucks. One thing I hope everyone noticed was the Dean Martin Indefinite Pronoun Mini-Set, which I consider quite the quick cash-in job following the unexpected success of "Everybody Loves Somebody" in 1964. As you may not know, "Everybody Loves Somebody" was a number one hit that year. It was followed by "You're Nobody til Somebody Loves You," which made it to 24 on the pop charts in 1965. 1966 brought us "Somewhere There's A Someone," which made it to 32 & "Nobody's Baby Again," which only made it to 60, proving that dead horses eventually do miss the top 40. Alas, I've never even HEARD "Nobody's Baby Again," but I would have included had I known about it.

Also, any thoughts on the Joe Pesci track?

I live outside Philly now and Joe's song has nothing on songs like this. (It's a Mummer's thing. You just have to live here to get it.) It's been covered by Fats Domino, The Charioteers, Fats Waller, Hoagie Carmichael and others and was once a very popular novelty song everywhere. It's still popular in Little Italy here.

Is Lou Monte cursing in Italian on that track?

Not on a record in 1960, but all bets would be off at a live show without any children in the audience.
