hey everyone,
if you have the time, you might enjoy this video of my surfish/horror-ish band, Beware the Dangers of a Ghost Scorpion! playing at the Rosebud, an awesome little bar in Somerville, Ma, just north of boston. It's a full show so it make take a bit to load, but the guy who filmed us, Joe LaRocca, did a great job. Check it out!

Ok, we played with these Boston boys last night. I have to say that of the past three years we have been active, they are one of the absolute best instro bands we have had the pleasure of sharing a stage with, and that is saying a lot. THE KBK ... I as well. A friend in Boston showed me these guys. IIRC, they use pink squier strats (<3) and get great sounds out of them. Definitely worth a listen. —IMO. |

No pink strats last night. They are actually all Dallas, TX natives that relocated. The songs were energetic, well written, well arranged, and had a heavy texas blues feel weaved into the surf aspects. Just great stuff... —THE KBK ... This is the last known signal. Ok, this really is a band that should not be ignored! Sometimes there are so many new intros (GREAT idea about having them in one place, Jonpaul!) that things can sometimes get lost in the shuffle, and that's a shame. Thanks to Noah letting me know about it, I went and checked these guys out last night, and they really impressed the crap out of me! Killer musicians, great sound (through 2 Fender Blues Juniors!!!) and super friendly guys! Kind of remind me of a higher energy Tremolo Beer Gut. No shit. I'm really glad I went to see them. I'm really looking forward to hearing more from them in the future! Hey ProfCoyoteScience... you might want to post your remaining dates in case anyone else might want to step out and see you guys! Good luck on the rest of your tour! —

I know that they have a date at The Cave in Chapel Hill either tonight or tomorrow night. I messaged them to come on and post their tour dates a short while ago. Thanks guys! Anniston and Atlanta were great times and fun shows. It was also incredibly awesome to finally share a bill with KBK. We've only got two nights left on this tour before we head back to Boston, but we're at the wind jammer in Charleston, SC tonight and at the cave in chapel hill tomorrow. Also, I hate to shatter any perceptions, but the pink strat was a loaner from another band when we had some tech issues. It did sound great though. — |

The term "junk" most often is missused and should probably pertain more to the person playing the instrument, rather than the instrument itself.
