Ivan... a Vox ! Here I was thinking I was the only guy on here that had one. I've been using a early 70's AC30 for about 8 years for my 60's rock and blues stuff, how do you like it for surf?

He's probably using it for Shadows stuff, not for surf.

I'm playing through a '67 Blackface Dual Showman and my recently acquired '66 Dual Showman cab with proper JBL D140's

I have a Fullerton-era '62 RI Precision (sunburst) and two '62 RI Jazz basses (oly white and LBP).

I have large amounts of non-surf basses and gear, including a large vintage Music Man collection. Here is a picture of about half of my Stingrays, Sabres and Cutlasses:

Do it, Bob! Both amazing bands, and unlikely to be visiting the West Coast any time soon. Especially the Volcanos, who have a very laid-back attitude about these things. (Though I could actually see the Preachers making a trek out there eventually...) Anyway, it's gonna be a kick-ass show, and you can probably find a ticket for $200-$250....

interesting things are a 70's L5 copy supposedly from the ibanez factory (hearsay), an early sixties Egmon electric (1" plywood - a Dutch guitar brand that sold a lot in the sixties. cheapos for starters) ... a cosmoverb and weber kit reverb tanks ... soulbender and verbafuzz fuzzes.... SF bassman export, 2x12 cab (jensen neo) and 1x15 cab (D140F) ... and a curly chord...

not represented are a brandless Spanish accoustic (in the living room) a dito western accoustic (residing in france) a bitch boy robi-guitar (project in pieces) a 1x15 JBL loaded cab (cab in storage, you can actually see part of the JBL on the far right) and a twin/showman project clone (in pieces on the bench, severe hum)

here's a pic of the guitar i use most ..... people who've toured with Gert might recognize a cutout of a "surfing airlines" sticker. the black thingy is random junk taped to the body - the photo is from a recorrding session, my trem arm squeecked (sp) and i lubricated it, but that changed the return-point and i never knew where the damn thing was when i went for it, so that was to hold it in place. the switch is rewired, down position=mid pup.

and here's a cool frog-view shot of my amps set up .... that's me standing on the cab trying to stick some damping to a vibrating garage door (talk about plate echo, phew) also note the table-soccer on the left. and the out of perspective giant reverb tank ...

Man, this thing also sounds GOOD!! The newly-acquired cab made a huge difference in sound. Like somebody lifted the blanket of the amp...

Isn't this absolutely nuts?? It's his kids' college money in those basses! (Let's not forget these bases were probably also handled by Leo!)

Hey, I did a tour a few years back with Gert, playing bass in a garage/punk band called the Hard Feelings. Gert rocks, I loved that little house in Belgium.

I'm finally getting a decent set of gear together so I'm going to throw my list into the mix.

Home-made A/B switch. As rhythm guitarist in Meshugga Beach Party, I find myself constantly switching from light to heavy drip on the reverb. So I built a foot switch that can switch between the on-board reverb on my Pro and the out-board unit. For my Showman, I switch between the Holy Grail and the out-board. It also has a seperate foot switch for the vibrato circuit. Now my hands are free to adjust my hat and beard.
