Callling all SG101'ers! I'd like to keep a running count of all records releases this year. Not only is it a good reference for people looking to buy new music, but it'll help me a great deal with the yearly round up podcast. So be vigilant and keep this thread accurate and up to date. Thanks!!!

I'll make this a sticky so you can always find it towards the top of the forum.

PS I'll assume any thing posted by the actual band is tacit approval to include it on a podcast, say if otherwise.

Is this 'Church of Reverb' a new album, or another remixed album?

I need to pick this up. We really enjoyed their set when we played with them on tour last summer. I am anxious to hear the recorded output.

My mistake. I heard Cemetery Beach through Surfer Joe on youtube, so in answer to your question, no it is not a remixed album.

I believe they have been on an upward trend with regards recording quality and simply upgrading older tracks which they feel deserve attention. Recent albums "Surf Riders From The Swamp Lagoon" and "Heretic Channel" contain 17 and 20 tracks some of which are new and some upgrades. When you consider some surf bands can only muster 8 or 9 tracks Messer Chups are quite good value.

In case anyone was wondering about previous years, a little searching turned up these. There's a lot of great music listed here. I have a lot more catching up to do than I thought I did. Smile

In April, we'll release a new album titled 'Paisley Beach' which we recorded last summer during our US tour at Pete Curry's Wowow Fun Room. It will be a 10" vinyl + download card released on Green Cookie records.

in Mexico are expected in these albums...

Twin Tones - La Muerte en Mojave (this is not purely surf but a very nice Instrumetal)

The Pacific Lions - Valle de Los Reyes (debut album. this band will be a great reference of Mexican surf) Here a sample of your reverb
