The AquaSonics working out with their new drummer at the D Note in Arvada. A nice place with a great stage back wall for a surf band. Again shot with a Sony alpha NEX-C3.
Surf Party with Astronautical gear and a very brief SG101 member guest appearance midway (not me).
I believe the AquaSonics are planning to play again on February 5th (a Wednesday) at the Oriental Theater in Denver. Bassist Marcus's band the Johnny Kongo All Stars will also appear. If you're in Denver, add that date to your calendar.
If you were going to hold a surf convention in "Denver," this would be the place. Technically it's Arvada, of course, and Winter in Denver is probably a better place for a Stock Show. Wait, ... we already have one.
Ding! We have a winner. It is the beautiful MileHighSurfer, looking extremely rockabillée. Of course, SubDigit6 has an unfair advantage, in that he is really good at recognizing her in all guises, with or without a reverb tank. Much better than the unidentified head that appears at the end of Out of Limits. Though I think that is her flash just before that. I treasure these little mementos in video!

The "Point Panic" video above marks a first in my career playing surf music. I live in fear of the soundman asking us to turn down. I've been FORCED to turn down in the past. I was especially worried at this show, where the opening band was the quietest band I've ever seen using electric instruments. Anyway. At the end of the clip, you can see Maui talking to someone off stage - it was the soundman, and he said "both guitars should turn UP!! Woo Hoo! From now on - all knobs set to "stoke"!
