Anyone seen this yet? Mixed feelings, but it's interesting.

IMO.

Not bad! Here are three more in a similar style - really like all of these. This guy can play.

Guys, do a search on here for This Machine Kills Robots. They posted links to two free albums last year. Fans of Surf and very technical Metal will be in love with it.

THE KBK ... This is the last known signal. We offer Sanctuary.

I couldn't find it on here anywhere, but HERE's their bandcamp page.

Insect Surfers
The Tikiyaki Orchestra
The Scimitars
Lords Of Atlantis
Fiberglass Jungle - Surf Radio

Thanks for bringing This Machine Kills Robots to my attention. I like that stuff. The others are kind of difficult to listen to with the drum machines. My favorite surf/metal crossover song is, Narita, by Riot. Recorded in 1979, it's got a hint of Penetration, but it's quite original.

Twisted Evil > Angel

What about prog surf? I'm thinking dissonant chords, odd time signatures, and intense fingerpicking. Been done?

IMO.

Yes, Daikaiju and Mermen really embody the whole prog-surf thing.

That is rad!

I have a gripe on the original video posted, that kid is way too accurate/precise.

Those Secret Chiefs songs were great, especially the Labyrinth of Light track, which was cool and made me laugh with the crowd noise and '70's prog-rock vibe. Instrumental Stunt Rock!

Twisted Evil > Angel

The Anthrax version of Pipeline comes to mind...we did this one..kinda sorta metal Smile
