Did anybody use telecaster with jazzmaster neck pu? record something maybe? I'm curious about this setup, to use surf / instro —original compositions (low-level demo stuff /out of tune, etc) myStuff not my best, but i don't like to be in a musician community without anything to show |

Just curious...since most Teles employ through-body stringing, how does changing to a Bigsby or other tremolo unit affect the sustain and tone? Does it make the guitar less Tele-y or is the difference fairly negligible? —More cowbell?? Nah...More Reverb!! |

Maybe here is the answer (but I'm not shure, that it's the through-body stuff) —original compositions (low-level demo stuff /out of tune, etc) myStuff not my best, but i don't like to be in a musician community without anything to show Last edited: Jan 03, 2013 14:53:08 |

CrashHardtop, When you transition from string through to top mount on a Tele (or most guitars for that matter) you can expect a bit more top end, http://www.facebook.com/CrazyAcesMusic |

Yeah, Tele-y made sense (to me) when I wrote it but in retrospect...oh, well, what's done is done. Thanks for the info CrazyAces--that's just what I was wondering. —More cowbell?? Nah...More Reverb!! |

CrashHardtop, Your more than welcome. I've actually done a lot of research and testing in this specific area so I'm happy to pass my findings along. —http://www.facebook.com/CrazyAcesMusic |

It had started off as a different design using DeArmond 2K pups, but veered to this direction somehow. The Allparts neck was uninspiring and I grew tired of looking at it, so I dismembered it. This one wasn't planned at all. I just realized I had the parts and slapped it together. I think I have $100 into it. The tele saddles work great with the Bigsby. It stays in tune. Funnily enough I found this while looking for surf drum loops for garbageband Sounds kinda surfish if you believe the recording was actually played on the tele (which I have no real reason to doubt, other than the guy is sitting at the beach and the tele doesn't appear to be plugged in - and where was he getting the vibrato dips? ). —He who dies with the most tubes... wins Last edited: Jan 14, 2013 19:46:34 |

Anyone try the Squier Tele that comes with a JM neck and I mean JM neck and not just the JM neck pickup... which it also has? $299. Someone must have grabbed one. —www.jetpackband.com Last edited: Mar 08, 2013 16:54:57 |

Teles are used for rock, country, blues, indie, punk, jazz, you name it, so why not for surf? I think any guitar can work unless you're real traditional about your surf tones. The Insect Surfers, for example, use/used SGs and Flying Vs, without whammys even, so whatever floats your boat, IMO. |

I have one that I bought on a whim. Input jack died a week later and now it's a wall hanger. Thinking about swapping necks with my Mascis squier since I prefer maple over rosewood. I got some good tones from it tho.. |
