That is a sweet set up Bill! You hear a lot about Showmans for surf, but I prefer Bandmasters and Bassmans. Ever think about getting a matching Black Tolex suit?
I agree with you Ferenc, Bandmasters make great amps for surf, and I think they still sound pretty trad. Your's looks looks excellent.
The Aquanauts bassist has a Dual Showman and a Bassman, which both sound pretty good as well. So, I would like a Showman, but the Bandmaster has it's perks, it's cheaper, and easier to lug around!

I really want a Vibroking. It is the middle ground between a Bandmaster and Showman. And I would still lug my own tank to the gigs.

Question for Ferenc and Ivan,
Ferenc, that Teisco Del Rey looks wicked, what song/s did you use it on?
Ivan, I can't remember from when you first got your showman, and can't tell from the pic. Does your cabinet have a tone ring?

I got it in December, but used it live for the first time in March. The cab does have a tone ring.

The Vibroking has 3 10s right? I know a guy here with one and I've used it live before. I would consider it more of a Super Reverb sounding amp than a Bandmaster/Showman middle ground amp. If anything it breaks up more than the Bandmaster. Also it's got a reissue Reverb Tank built into it, or atleast it's got more reverb than Fender "reverb" amps and the reverb channel has the same knobs the stand alone tanks have. As a Super Reverb lover I had to put mine into retirement because the 10 inch speakers just don't deliver the right reverb sound.
If we are even talking aobut the same amp....

My bandmate Hans uses a Vibroking. It sounds very good. The reverb is not as drippy as the outboard unit (I think the circuit and tubes are slightly different), but it's 10 times better than the 1 knob reverb. The Vibroking is, AFAIK, a 59 Bassman with a 3 knob reverb before the preamp. When we tested it in the store, we compared it to a Twin Reverb Reissue, what a difference, the Vibroking was so much better (but also more expensive). If you use it with an outboard tank, I think you'll be happy.
Great photos everyone, thanks for posting. C'mmon Ivan, do that group shot...

Here it is - all of it. I think I have too much gear - the only way I could fit it all within a frame was to take it from pretty far away.
Here's the cream of the crop, closer up and larger than life:
(Sorry, I know that's too big - but it just looked so beautiful in that photo, I couldn't bear to decrease its size. I know it's gonna cause a mess on the page, so I'll just leave it like this for a bit and then replace it with the smaller one.)

Damn you Ivan, damn you. That is a great picture of your gear. I envy your amps most of all. AC30, Showman, and Dual Professional. Also the Blues Deluxe(I assume) is not a bad amp.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice collection, Ivan!
Looking forward to your California tour
this summer. I understand that you
have to leave the Dual Showman behind,
but it sure would've been nice tho hear
that amp in its' full glory. Just the same,
I know we will not be disappointed.

Jake, don't be envious! Damn, when I was your age all I had was my fiesta red Strat, a mongrel Strat (made out of different parts) and a solid-state Carvin amp! So, my friend you're WAY ahead of me with these things...

Dave, you could say she was bemused! But she kept a good humor about it. She was working on the garden right next to the amps as I was stacking all the stuff. At some point I came out, looked at it all and said, "What a beautiful sight", and she said, "why, thank you!" There's a reason why I love that woman...

Well, Bob, all you gotta do is fly out here! We're playing quite a few shows this summer, Detroit (w/ the Volcanos and the Breakers), Chicago (w/ the Cocktail Preachers & the Volcanos), Champaign, IL (with a bunch of bands, including swing, lounge and bossa nova), Columbus, OH (with rockabilly and garage bands), even Nashville, TN! So, how about it?

Thanks on the compliments, Stigger. I think my shoreline gold '62-RI Strat is my favorite, and has been for a couple of years now. I love the way it looks and sounds, though it's a bit of a beast to play (the action is kinda high). But that's probably why it sounds good! I'm also very attached to my fiesta red Strat which I've had for sixteen years. The black '62-RI Strat, though rather unremarkable looking, is a really fine playing and sounding guitar, too, as is the MIJ Jazzmaster. Gotta love Fender....

Thanks for the pics Ivan, I liked how you put the Fiesta Red Strat next to the Vox, for obvious reasons...

We have a '63-4 Tremolux and a '66 Super Reverb to add to the collection now. Not to mention a Farfisa amp. All of our guitars were not packed as well.
