Shouldn't forget Deep Eddy Records 'Radical Waves' comp. That was a choice collection as well.

And don't leave out The Man From Ravcon's "The Traveler" - that one really speaks to me.

"Best Surf Releases of 2012" would be an incomplete list without Surf-Age Nuggets: Trash & Twang Instrumentals: 1959-1966.

There have been so many fantastic releases this year! Too many to list and impossible for me to come up with a best of. These are the ones that are still in steady rotation on my stereo.
RoadRunners "Rampage"
Rev Hank "Longhorn"
Maeds Dominos "The Big T"
The Madeira "Tribal Fires"
The Shockwave! "Death Race"
The Surfaders "Dragstrip Murder Mystery"
Biarritz Boys "Enjoy the Hip, Slick, Ultra-Violent and Super Sexy Surfsound of ..."
"Brave New Surf [VA]"
Also:
Hell-O-Tiki "Attack of Lady Octopussy"
The Phantom Four "Morgana"
Los Fantasticos "The Devil Went Down to George Street"
The Mariners "Demon Surf!"
Meshugga Beach Party "Hot Rod Hanukkah"
Pedrito Diablo & Los Cadáveras "El Cuerno del Chivo"
"Il Triello: Three Western Tales [VA]"
Sheesh. I could list even more, but perhaps that would be compulsive, like my buying habit ...
Tom,
you always do a great job of getting lots of new releases.
Good Job man. I am envious.

Today on El Sotano Spain
Los 20 elegidos son Mike Barbwire and the Blue Ocean Orchestra (SOS RocknRoll, El Sótano calling), Los Straitjackets (Yeah yeah yeah), The Madeira (Tribal fury), Mambo Jambo (La maldición de los rockers), Clint (Alguno de los nuestros), Akron (The corbomite ritual), Bevel Emboss (I like movies), The Tikiyaki Orchestra (Konos revenge), Venturesmania (The lonely matador), The Routes (Hotwired), Martini Surfers (Misión en Torremolines), Los Tsunamis (Sabadaba), Los Galerna (Surfusión), Jaguar and the Savanas (The ride of May Gray), Los Imposibles (Snake eyes), The Sugarman Three (Rudys intervention), Jaime (Honolulu dark), Man or Astro Man? (Dr Space), The Lone Surfers (El momento de la verdad) y Camarada Nimoy (Tacoma bridge).

Music has been such a large part of my life that to have a favorite of anything is impossible for me to list. I've heard most of what has been listed and I'm very pleased to be alive now. I hope next year is as good as this has been. I have so many favorites I don't know what to play!

The usual suspects here in my top 3:
2. Surf Age Nuggets box
3. The Madeira - tribal fire
and on number 1: Blind Rage And Violence - the end of rock an roll
The best Link Wray tribute record ever (and the best record Deke ever made after 'Pabst Blue Ribbon').
Would love to get my hands on the new MOAM vinyls but they are hard to get here in Europe.

Thanks for the heads-up Arny:
"number 1: Blind Rage And Violence - the end of rock an roll"
Sounds great, just ordered it on CD from CDBaby.
Cheers!

Wow, thanks guys! I wish I had seen this sooner. I'm really glad you all dug Half Human, especially my favorite humanoids on the planet, Daikaiju.
I just released a single that isn't quite as surfy/melodic as Half Human (free download at the link provided), and I'm knee deep in work on a full-length and a split with a friend's band. I was directed to this thread from someone who purchased the single. I frequently lurk around SG101, but I had no idea this thread existed.
Again, thank you.

A little off-topic, but...The Beauty and the Liquidmen reminds me a lot of an indie guitarist acquaintance of mine who makes a ton of this sort of weirdness in his spare time under the name Peopleperson:

Maybe they ought to join forces.
