Permalink How many of you have built parts guitars?

I built a pair of Telecaster-like objects out of parts. SPent a quarter of the total budget on pickups (one had Fender OVs, the other Duncan Broadcasters). They still need a bit of work when I get back around to them, but both are playable. Here's an overload of pictures:

I'll probably do it again in the future. If you're patient about finding parts, it doesn't have to be too expensive.

First time and still a work in progress. Wanted a Rhoades V since their inception, but I liked the single coil sound..... thus the single p90 Smile

Is that trem from a Hohner headless guitar?

Washburn Wonderbar, top mount competition to Kahler and Rose in the 80's. Had it installed on my Ar300 which was a terrible injustice to the guitar. This seemed more fitting. Its always held tune for me, wouldnt part with it!

I've built two (2), both are laminated hardwood Squier II Strat bodies refinished using Krylon Multi-Purpose Indoor/Outdoor spray paint.

Here's my second project guitar, a Squier II Strat repainted using Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Multi-Purpose Blue Ocean Breeze spray paint. GFS Lipstick pickups were installed after the photo was taken. The bridge pup is a GFS Lipstick humbucker.

This is a better representation of the Coral Isle Mist Strat color.
