Used buy an old lady on Sundays to power the church organ. Not Kiding.

It is DOA but has the JBL 15 and groovy chrome rack (shades of Vox?)

I have visited and bookmarked Marty Tippens page on these beasties.

Foot switch missing.

That is one sexy robot! Yes Love the trolley. I've seen the BG-1000 version with 2x15's on craigslist a few years back and it sold within a few hours. There's a Fuzzrite built into the amps too. Here's a video with a guy comparing the 500 vs. 1000 and the built in fuzz vs. the actual pedal: Video right here

Thats the one the mosrite collectors want, with the ventures logo on it. These are actually quite valuable. It would not surprise me if Semie gave that to the church organist, he was known to do things like that.....

I found a little more info.
"Those early transistor thingies are not built by Dumble. They practically weren't even a Mosrite product, despite the logo. They were a product of Mosrite Distribution (a separate business entity owned by the band Ventures). Because both companies lacked the resources and knowhow to build transistor amplifiers the amplifiers were actually built by Waters-Connelly and hence they carry the compay's "Award" brand. A license was bought from reluctant Semie Moseley so that Mosrite Distribution could use the Moseley's Mosrite trademark as well."
Then I find this.

Award amps . Nice to look at amps but just plain lousy sound wise and construction wise. Read the Ventures recent book about what a nightmare these amps became. It was a chief factor in Mosrite's collapse.

The Ventures used Sunn amps after this amp debacle for loud sound, I believe.
Sunn is my kind of amp - loud, clean (if you want), EL34 powered and a bit edgier than your typical Showman/Twin fair. Coupled with an edgy sounding overwound Mosrite pickup, it's so un-Fender sounding for those of us who don't want to sound like most others in Surf. The combination was and still is a very hot setup.

Sunn amps are obscenely loud

so, what is an amp like this worth?
I've never seen one, but I am nearby, and Christmas is nigh...

(I should get points for using "nigh".)

Tiki,
It's priceless. maybe because it is so rare.
But
Price is based on what an item is worth.
And this amp has a proven history of being worthless.
Ergo - ( a little Latin lingo there)
With proper inclination -as in I could get it cheap - I'd gut it and put a reliable Fender/Marshall/favorite brand X circuit in it and just keep the pretty exterior.
My 2 cents

" I'd gut it and put a reliable Fender/Marshall/favorite brand X circuit in it and just keep the pretty exterior."

I had the same thought sort of. The front end is what makes this thing stand out. To splice a bassman circut into the backend of this beast would be a fine hybrid.

And I will take offers..

Update.
After a halfass try to move the amp on Ebay, I have taken it into a local electronics shop that prefers solid state to tube. He replaced a 1000uF 25 V- cap (date 11/66) and a couple of light bulb lamps. Seems the lamps complete a circut that makes it go. I was told the speaker (JBL D130F) was bad and he had replaced it with a 15 that they had in shop. I went to pick it up and asked if the effects were working. They were not. I think I need the pedal to switch them on like those Vox jobs. (Can anyone confirm? Marty/Nokie from Planktones)
I asked for the old parts and they asked what I planed to do with the JBL. Have it fixed I say. No parts for that and the repair guy you use is out of biz. Says the repair guy. I smiled and walked out with the speaker and amp. Repair guy said he replaced the JBL with a 15 with 70 watt rms spec. I figured OK lets give it a try. Sadness. It was weak and lacked mids and highs. Pulled the back off to find a HI-FI woofer stuck in there. Took the JBL to the shop today and should hear back next week.

I am ordering a switchcraft A4F jack to make the pedal a pedal/cord.

More later.

Man, sounds like a bunch of hacks trying to scam you with a cheap speaker. Not like the amp is going to sound like a million bucks, but with the JBL fixed and with the right repair guy to get it all cleaned up, it should sound pretty cool.
