Permalink Mosrite Mark I Ventures Model 1966 Blue $3000 OBO

New Topic

Email scotstandard@yahoo.com if interested. Going to ebay tonight.

All original except the pots are CTS. The originals are included but are pretty dirty so I did change them.

Lots of really cool checking and you can see some under coating peaking through the checks. This was a big part of why I bought it....It has a really cool look to it.
There are dings, scratches and a couple of kablams on the paint most toward the bottom back and is missing a couple of inches of paint by the lower strap button.
Looks like someone wanted to get rid of the Ventures logo and got the V out or scratched off (????) but V is missing (see photos)
Half of the low E tuner string side of gear is broken off. I have had this guitar for years and has never given me any problems (tuning or otherwise) Could be replaced but it its original and never bothered me so I just left it. The original case is missing on this one but it will be shipped double boxed and with a gig bag.

Other than that Its a tip top Mosrite.
All original Frets, Pickups, Tuners, Knobs, Switch, Trem arm, Pots (included), and Pacific Blue Paint!

Great player! Low action! Sounds great!

Scots,
While your guitar is stamped a late 1965, most Mosrite collectors would view it as a 1966 model- because - The truss rod adjustment was moved to the headstock from the base of the neck and the M knobs replaced the smooth knobs. So - really a 1966.
The guitar looks like a good candidate for Americna Restoration (see IvanP thread in the Shallow End).
I bought a beater like this at a local Guitar Center several years back for $1,000.00 and GC was happy to get rid of it - trem bearings and spring missing, one pickup dead but the color was all black and it looked like it was played to hell. I brought it back to being a sound player.

3 grand is a bit steep for the (real) year and condition of your guitar but good luck to you in any event.

J Mo'

I call it 66, and never a 65. I got an OBO in there. Only selling because Im going to buy a car.

If anyone is interested let me know.
