curious to see what folks think of this one after the thumbs-down feedback on the Dick Dale ciip Smile

I am blown away completely every single time I've seen Junior Brown, and his surf medley is one of the highlights of his show.

Junior is the man! I have all his stuff.

Either you surf, or you fight.

Pretty nice. Sorry I missed him a few years ago at the Boulder Theater. partly I was down on them because they didn't allow pics or video. Mainly I think I was just tired that night. Next time even if!

Should be possible to figure out what surf records he has. Surprised there's no Steel Pier, though.

He also did a killer Hendrix medley here in Seattle a few years back. Class act!

Thanks, Junior sure does a great surf medley. Here is a near 2 min. video I made of him doing a portion of his surf medley last Feb. in Austin, Texas.

i saw him a few years ago......great live show and the highlight for me was the surf medley too.

What's he actually doing when it looks like he's pinching the guitar body with his pick finger?

The guitsteel has a vibrato bridge on it. What you are talking about may be when he presses on it to get some whammy.

Be at one with the universe. If you can't do that, at least be at one with your guitar.

And you can now get your very own for a measly $14,500.

Mind you, if I had that kind of money to spend I can think of some other guitar gear I'd rather have!

I saw him at the Guitar Geek fest a couple years ago,
as Much as I like surf, I think the medley is just so so.
I Think he is WAY better at country playing.

I agree BTD. Even though I've never seen him live, I have just about all of his albums. The surf medley sounds better on the album (probably not surprising) but even there...and especially on the youtube videos...he sounds to me more like a guy playing at surf music rather than the real thing.

But then, he covers a pretty impressive range of music, and gives it all the Junior Brown treatment, meaning he always sounds like himself with his signature licks sprinkled in there. But yeah, country is his bread and butter and he is a great picker.
