Thanks for all your help, Brian and everybody. Given that I'm really not terribly computer literate, all those suggestions sound like more trouble than it's worth. I think for the moment I'll just stick to doing things the way I have been. I've also noticed other limitations of Firefox that Jeff mentions - but it does keep Windows much more stable! So, I guess I'll stick with it, and simply live with the problems...
Ivan
PS And Brian, I agree, I also wish you could come over and help!

Ivan I'd be there in a minute if I could.
Firefox works great for me, sorry to hear you guys have problems.
Again, you might try Opera. I have used it on this site also to test out compatibility. http://www.opera.com/

I've found if you skip the updates the opposite tends to become true.

I haven't seen my problem posting to the group today, but I'm still having trouble with the unread post markers not turning tan, or if they are tan they revert to white after one viewing. I seem to remember firefox updating a couple days ago I wonder it that's the cause?

Sorry, could have worded that much less confusingly. (Me fail English? That's unpossible.)
I tend not to have problems with Firefox until I skip an update. Then it starts acting weird and I get lots of errors.

Has anybody here used IE 7? I downloaded it to give it a try and it is the worst Internet Browser I have ever used. IE 6 is so much better. Security withstanding Firefox is IE6 with tabs. IE 7 is just an eye sore that is hard to use.

IE7 is superior to IE6 when it comes to following HTML and CSS standards. It actually displays pages somewhat better than IE6. But, I just had to laugh when it took like 25 Megs or more to download IE7 while Opera and Firefox are like 5 or 7 Megs. It is still a bloated pig that bogs people's machines down.
All the browsers have quirks and it makes developing websites very hard when they all act differently.
If you are having problems with Firefox I would try this: delete your browsers cache and cookies. Then uninstall it completely. Then go to getfirefox.com and get the latest version and install that.
