You can always tune a guitar to Eb or D and switch during your show. That way fingers don't change only the apparent key! :o)

Seriously, consider writing songs or transposing them to keys like Bb or G.

Yes, my guess is a lot of guitarists started out with piano lessons, and thus 'C' is the goto key to play things, Am being it's relative minor is the same thing.

Capo it up so you can play the same positions in different keys. It gets interesting when two guitar players are playing together in different capo's positions, getting different open string possibilities.

i'm a big fan of the keys of Dm and Bbm...still love that Am, C, F progression... a big old ringing Am...
