Good movie. Critics don't like it but hey, what do they know. Was a good PG movie to take the family to which, IMHO, a good message about "living right" and "paying it forward". I don't think I recall a swear word in the thing (that slang for urination which can be slang for making someone mad was used but in context).

While there were some obvious continuity gaffes in the surf scenes (like waves would be rolling in but yet our characters were able to stop and chat on what looked like a calm ocean) the overall surf shots were well done I thought. They really showed the power of Maverick's.

It wasn't a "surf" film like Endless Summer or something, but it was more like Soul Surfer where the story was highlighted with surfing being the setting.

Still, worth the overpriced tickets, popcorn, and sodas to have something with real humans in it (last movie was Hotel Transylvania!).

I say, go, but don't expect non-stop surfing action.

Steve

But what about THE MUSIC????????! Duh

Insect Surfers
The Tikiyaki Orchestra
The Scimitars
Lords Of Atlantis
Fiberglass Jungle - Surf Radio

Actually, I was really disappointed in the music because it was set in the 80s and into the 90s but there wasn't a lot of period music used. I guess in Santa Cruz they were not listening to Surf music or pop music of the day!

I've seen and followed all the surf movies. not only do i love the music, i love surfing. Riding giants, the book The Wave, etc, etc.. thanks, I'll check this out.
