Love ya, Eddie!

I have the certain feeling Marty will be waiting with open arms. That will be one great big hug Eddie's gonna get.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Spent several hours with Eddie and his brother John today. Eddie remains in a coma. I warned him to watch out for the Baja Marty bear hug.

Smile I can't help imagining the look on Marty's face when he first sees Eddie. Smile It makes me smile.

This song has remained in the vault till this morning and has only been previously heard by those that were in attendance.

Recorded February 23, 2008 at an event called "Surf-O-Rama." This was Eddies first gig with The Eliminators. The club was absolutely packed. Eddie wrote this song just for the event. As far as I can determine, this is the last song ever recorded by Eddie.

The Eliminators went a bit long in their portion of the show. At the start of the tape you see the late Baja Marty reminding them of the time. Eddie was a bit miffed over the time mix up but everyone got past it.

On October 26, 2012, Eddie was given last rights by his priest. He has terminal cancer and is in his final days with us. As his song was unnamed, for the purpose of this video, we will call his song "Heaven." This song is the property of Eddie Bertrand.

The remainder of Eddies performance that evening may be seen at http://youtu.be/dhJM0iWL-kI.

Eddie Bertrand - guitar
Joe Kurkowski - guitar
John Benton - guitar
Frank Hughes - bass
Bill Swanson - percussion and sax
Doug Harlow - drums

It is my sad news to report that Eddie has just passed from this life to the next. His friend Rick Thornburgh was at his side when he passed away. God speed Eddie.

RIP Eddie, riding that reverb wave to heaven.
