Ivan's Stratorama! topic was just the bump I needed. I sprained my back pretty badly almost three weeks ago and haven't been able to play AT ALL. Until today. As most here know, I've played my Jaguar exclusively since I started playing again after my shoulder surgery; the short scale really helped compared to my long-scale Fenders.

But today I decided to tryout my Strat and was able to play for a while. It was nice to hear those unique sounds again. The marginally flatter fingerboard didn't help my barre chords any, but not really bad compared to a G&L I played before my back trouble. Strats really are nice guitars.

I saw a band last weekend and everyone played Fiesta Red Stratocasters with Gold hardware. Drool! But these MIM Classic Series '50s come in Fiesta Red, have vintage radius and frets on their Maple fingerboards, and are a LOT LESS expensive than those '57s. Hmm. Hmmmmmm. Let's see ... ...

Strat all the way for me. Its a candyapple 1986 MiJ std 57 with Tonerider Surfari pickups.
I also have a Jap JM with antiquity pups, a HW1 Texas Tele and a Dipinto Belvedere Deluxe, but the Strat outplays them all
