I LOVE Phil Dirt's opening line in his review of my uke surf CD. It really cracked me up._ All right... don't screw your attitude hat on too tight._

It never ceases to amaze me how truly talented people can create so much beauty and enjoyment from such simple (compared to a Jazzmaster, Space Echo, Reverb tank and Bandmaster) tools as an uke, talent and a good tune. And a sense of humor.
Good fun! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks All! If someone told me I'd be playing uke a couple of years ago (and making some good money at it) I would've laughed myself silly. Funny how things have changed. It sure is easy to gig with: no gear to bring except the uke.
That being said, i also really like playing my guitar through my reverb tank onto my amp too!

Nice review in the Continental: 4 stars
While I have to admit there aren't many albums with surf music played on the ukulele, once you give it some thought, it's a natural combination. Surf, Hawaii, and ukulele all go together. Rev hank of the Urban Surf Kings brings you 10 songs, all which are performed on this 4-string instrument. He performs songs by USK, as well as surf classics like "Cruel Sea", Walk, Don't Run", and "Having an Average Weekend". It doesn't "rock", and there's no drippy reverb, but I thought this was a fabulous disc, perfect for when you just want to mellow out.
The CD is available from me for a mere $12. Paypal to surfkings@hotmail.com

I've thoroughly enjoyed many of rev hanks videos of trad surf rock covers. I've started learning how to play ukulele and love playing surf rock on acoustic guitars.

Dave,
I got to play the one you made for Gerald Ross when he was in NS. It is a mighty fine uke! Here's Gerald & I (and Crash) playing Apache:
