There is an alternate version on one of those Lost Legends of Surf Guitar CD's, I can't remember which one right now. But you should get all of those anyway. Wink

"It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea

It's on Lost Legends of the Surf Guitar I by the Jesters and also on Guitar Player/Rhino Records Legends of Guitar: Surf Vol. 1, by Jim Messina

Carol, It's on Lost Legends of Surf Guitar Vol.1...Jim Messina and the Jesters '63 version. The CD is on the Sundazed label (SC 1126).

The Mariners (1964-68, 1996-2005)
The Hula Hounds (1996-current)
The X-Rays (1997-2004)
The Surge! (2004, 2011-2012)
Various non-surf bands that actually made money
(1978-1990)

The Halibuts have a fine version on their Live at Toes CD. The Kilaueas have a nice cover on their Professor Volcanova CD.

And of course you can probably still find the semi-legit (?) CD of Jim Messina & The Jesters / Adrian & The Sunsets. The Lost Legends version is different than this one.

Its hard to find but the Treblemakers from Canada had a cd called "flippin the bird" on GeeDee records out of Germany.
they do The Jester and a few other Jim Messina and the Jesters songs.
great energy on those, if you can track one down, good source for a modern version.
