Hi there,
I've been dabbling with Garagebend recently and quite disappointed to see the lack of beats suitable for surf music.
What i'd really like is a double snare beat but can't seem to modify the programmed beats to suit. Has anyone got beats they are willing to share?

I've been playing guitar for a few years now with a background in Punk/Metal but since hearing Los Straitjackets Tempest a couple of years ago i've been drawn into the surf guitar scene and trying to learn the style. I don't get a lot of time due to work so i'm picking it up slowly.

Here's something I just laid down in Garageband, would love to put an appropriate beat behind it! cheers

I got a packet of these, which I thought were pretty good...

If you want a good double snare beat in GarageBand, then programming it yourself if the way to go. Here's a quick sample beat I just made: http://cl.ly/3t443x432x2f

Try importing that into GarageBand and then put it on a track that has the Rock Kit selected on it. You might have to tweak it to get it sounding right, but that should be a good start. Play with the tempo of the project. You can mess around in the Piano Roll to customize the beat more Smile

I also just made my own out of existing beats. I found it to be REALLY easy, just some copy/paste magic and you'll have it in no time. Do yourself a favor and save the file just as that beat, so you can open it and "save as" for all new files.

I use Garageband with my iPad to demo most of my ideas these days.
I find that the manual drums are so easy to play/program that I never even touch the loops.

Cool, Thanks for the advice.
I guess i'll just have to look a bit deeper into the programme and work it out a bit more

Thanks. I just ordered a set. When I get some time, I’ll give them a try.

I paid for these, but after several failed downloads/corrupted files, I asked PayPal for a refund, in part because my email provided returned the inquiry I sent him as having been an invalid email address.

That's a bummer - mine downloaded and unzipped perfectly 1st time. Probably used up all my luck for the whole summer Smile

I certainly would have been happier to have the product than the refund, but I couldn’t reach the seller via email. Caveat emptor.
