Bass player in me says, what's reverb?
Surf Fan in me says, Never! Blasphemy!
just kidding of course,
I know there are some songs that need less or none.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

I turn it off at the end of the night, after our last song. True story.

On a related note I rarely turn down the tone control on my guitar.

The only time my reverb gets turned-off is when there is a power outage.

i've always got some form of reverb on, seems so empty without any!

Jim Thomas of the Mermen has a million pedals and a few volume/expression
pedals, one of those pedals affects the amount or Reverb/delay effect signal strength. On the studio recordings there are changes from reverb to dry, but its always mixed well, on a few live recordings, and seeing them live a few times, it's always struck me as kind of harsh to go from Huge Cavernous reverb n Delays to absolute dry. Such a shocking change, and never sat well with me. Always wished he'd leave a little like 5 or 10% there underneath all the time.

I don't always play bass, but when I do I always use my BOSS RV-5 reverb pedal set to modulate. Twang!

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

If there's reverb on the guitar's sound for the greatest part of the setlist, it sounds really weird to turn it off. I'll probably have to run a soundcheck again.

I never turn it off in our surf sets but I do trun it down for the songs in which I do rythm and further down for distorted (maxed tubescreamer-style pedal) sounds.

I don't understand the footswich thing of the reverb unit, I can't see any use for it. A 'full or half' reverb switch would be waaaaay more usefull. It doesn't seem good to the audience when you bend to set the knobs between songs.

If you have verb on your amp you can use that for your lower setting. If both your amp and verb tank have footswitches, it is easy to switch back and forth between the two settings.

One may also want to use a delay instead of verb to mix things up. Again the footswitch is handy for this.

I once played a set where I had to change settings on my DMM 4 or 5 times through the night. I have tape on it to mark positions had a cheat sheet. Sounded great but, yes, it does suck to have to bend over and change knobs all the time.
