Anyone know the chord sequence for the slow middle section - can't quite get it right
Ken

Yes, it is deceptively simple. I had a hard time hearing it, but the changes are on straight four-counts. We recently pulled this song back out.

Em, C, G, C, B, B7, Em

Richard, I believe at the turnaround it's E major for 2 bars than back down to E minor when the 2nd line of melody starts.

Thanks for that

Danny, you are correct.

what are the chords for the main versus?

if you watch some outerwave's versions of Quiet Surf on youtube, you can see the rhythm guitarist hands on his guitar.

"You can't tell where you're going if you don't know where you've been"

FWIW, I am so enamoured of this tune that I quickly did the chord tab for that Outer Wave version AFAICT (corrections welcomed)

Intro
Drums and Bass Intro (E with 5th and B with 5th)
E / / / E / / / B / / / B / / /

Then guitar comes in with 2nd and 3rd harmonics on open strings
E / / / E / / / B / / / B / / / E / / / E / / / B / / / B / / /

V1
Em / / / Em / / / Em / / / D / / /
Em / / / Em / / / D / / / Em / / /

V2 (octave higher)
Em / / / Em / / / Em / / / D / / /
Em / / / Em / / / D / / / Em / / /
D / / / Em / / / Em / / / Em / / /
Bm / / / Bm / / / Em / / / Em / / / Bm / / / Bm / / /

Bridge
Em / / / C / / / G / / / C / / / Bm / / / B7 / / / Em / / /
Em / / / C / / / C / / / G / / / C / / / Bm / / / B7 / / /
Em / / / E / / / E / / / E / / /

V3 (muted)
Em / / / Em / / / Em / / / D / / /
Em / / / Em / / / D / / / Em / / /
D / / / Em / / / Em / / / Em / / /

Outro
Bm / / / Bm / / / Em / / / Em / / / Bm / / / Bm / / / Em

This is based on the way I heard that recording, and I guess I could change the bits that I call Verse and bridge a bit, but then again, you could rearrange the tune several ways and it would still sound cool

What a GREAT song.......I've worked on this one for a while now but it's hard to get the middle part without hearing the rhythm with it so...is there a backing track anywhere?
