Two DVD set from the boys at Next Level Guitar. I guess some of these may be available in some form on YouTube already, but it looks pretty good.

I just ordered them Wednesday. 5-7 days to ship, so I'll be able to give a report on them next week.

VERY interested in your impressions.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Noel,
Nextlevelguitar.com has a video preview of the DVD set. It looks like the YouTube lessons. Since my screen is so small, and they do on screen tabs and strum patterns, I thought it would be worth the $ to get the DVDs
I certainly will give you my impression after I dig into it

also keen to hear what these are like, i've been thinking about ordering them for a while, just the short youtube clips are great for a surf beginner like myself! Smile

The nlg DVDs arrived today. 2 disc set, disc 1 has 11 lessons, all available on YouTube I believe. Disc 2 has product reviews.
For the reviews, the lumped rockabilly and surf together.
The guitars reviewed were the jazzy, jag, and strat from fender.
3 Gretch models are also reviewed, last but not least the white falcon.
3 Amps were reviewed
6 different effects pedals
The lessons are all from Jason lee ( the hair is even BIGGER on my big screen tv!)
There is a fair amountof on screen tabs and picking patterns.
This is definitely for beginners.
IMO you do need to at least have a basic knowledge of the guitar to get started.
For me it's worth the $ just for a larger screen, and easier navigation through the lesson.
My benefit from the product section is that when I can walk into a store Ill have a clue.
Hope it helps, feel free to drop me a line if you have more questions

Does Jason cover rhythm surf guitar or just lead? What tunes does Jason teach? Thanks!

Hope Jason gets a cut; awesome guy.

Noel,
Jason doesn't cover any songs, just techniques.
He teaches palm muting, Tremelo picking, how to use the tremolo arm, etc.
He does teach some chord progressions and strum patterns.
He does stress that we try to use them with our own creativity to make our own music.
I've seen at least 7 out of the 11 lessons on YouTube.
I would suggest checking those out first before ordering.
