Find as may ways as you can of playing the same chord on the fingerboard.
eg: A minor - 1st position, 5th position etc..

A computer age chord chart. Fancier than what we had back in the 60s, but the chords/fingerings have not changed.

I was following a jazz book, and that was roughly where I stalled. In jazz, most of the chords are shown to have inversions. These are different fingerings of the same chord, but where the bass notes may not be the lowest in chord. However, what the inversions allow you to do is play chords rapidly in succession without moving too far up or down the fretboard, which I think is part of the lesson here.
