Thanks! Sorry I couldn't find the Surf Teens version up anywhere, but the compilation for them, with Deke Dickerson's article about them, is definitely worth tracking down and I think it's pretty easy to find, too.

And here it is, with a sample of Chicago Surf on line.

Anyone in Chicago need a point guard?

Speaking of Chicago surf. My buddy recently scanned a bunch of pics of us playing around various Chicago clubs from the early 90's. Here are some pics of us at the Cubby Bear bar across from Wrigley Field. These were taken in 1993. Dick Dale played this same stage a couple months later during his first comeback tour. Seeing him live completely blew my mind. That's when I decided to ditch the bass and buy my first strat!

The bass I'm playing is a rare MIJ 32" scale P-bass. It looks like a full scale, only shrunk down a little. I wish I still had it! Steve's playing a 12 string surfcaster!

I came. I saw. I left.

Surfinsam - How many miles from Rockford are you?

How's your digestion now?

Is this a dead thread? i'm near chicago.. still playing in a few bands of various styles..

I play with some guys in Arl Hts.

I'm around Chicago but don't know much surf.
Bob

Yeah.. i'm still in my hard rock/ early punk band. I have a concept for an instrumental, surf, spaghetti band but dunno how it would go over.
