morphball, what didnt you like about the Fulltone?

I just found that when playing with another guitarist, bassist and a drummer, the trem effect seemed to get a bit lost in the mix... it just became too subtle, almost as it wasn't even on. And footprint was a factor too- I could actually fit 2 more pedals on the board if I wanted to. Otherwise, it is a good trem though, just not the be-all end-all anymore.

Fair enough morphball. i was thinking of buying one after being really impressed with the fulltone OCD. I currently have a Boss TR2 which is best used as a doorstop in my opinion. Seems to be a lot of recommendations here for many different brands, not as easy as Jag or Jazzer!!
Cheers

ive been thinking about picking up a hardwire tr-7, does anyone have any experience with those?

The Danelectro one is great, costs about 40 bucks brand new and it even has a built-in boost when the effect is kicked in so no volume drop...

I had a Danelectro "Tunamelt" if that is the one you mean. Great sound and as you said, cost next to nothing.

I have a Effectrode Delta Trem - I was really disappointed with it at first until I discovered the trim pot and turned it to max. Now its unbeatable. Still, I also have a Monte Allums kit modded Boss TR2 and a Danelectro Cool Cat and they have their place/uses too.

Big Grin one more vote for the danelectro tunamelt tremolo! it's cheap, works fine and it's cheap!. plastic case however, not recomended for crazed individuals' stage use. and it's cheap! Guitar

Enjoying the surf,sun and sand!!

right! I also have one of that cheap tuna melt pedals somewhere in a box. it altenates volume as supposed from a tremolopedal, and they are cheap, in case no one else mentioned that Big Grin

here comes the WEST SAMOA SURFER LEAGUE

I've been using the DBH Tremolo by ProTone.
Designed in conjunction with Danny B. Harvey the pedal features a volume control that's boosts the effect so there's no signal drop when you kick it on. The space control is interesting, it tightens up the space between swells and allows for additional shaping most pedals aren't capable of. A real keeper!!!

Yes LoeD--yessir, i mentioned that the dano tremolo is CHEAP!!! i love
the thing. it seems to get what i want going--and it is cheap!! Agree

I am often surprised at how many people use the Danelectro Tuna Melt Pedal. It really does do the trick. If only they would rework it in a more road friendly case...

The Danelectro Cool Cat CT-1 trem is pretty good too. It has a metal case and retails for just $39.

Sean

I would be curious to give it a try to see how they two Dano pedals compare.

The Danelectro Cool Cat trem has a metal case, but I don't think it's the same circuit as the Tuna Melt. Most Danelectro fx are clones of proven vintage circuits though.

Regarding cheap trems we've already mentioned the Joyo/Harley Benton somewhere else on the forums. It's a very affordable and apparently decently built clone of the excellent Demeter Tremulator.

I'm planning to build myself an EA trem clone as soon as the guy who makes PCBs for me gets back from his holidays. I also have a low voltage tube tremolo in project; I'm not sure how it will sound but it's a good excuse to mess about with tubes without risking electrocution.

Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers.

The Carl Martin Surf Trem does it for me: it's not the least expensive or the most expensive... it's easy for me to dial in the effects i need...

Like DP, I love this bad boy. With depth and speed around 2:30 to 3:00 this baby really shimmers.

Looks like the Surf Trem is now manufactured in a more traditional enclosure:

hey dp and HBkahuna-does that carl martin pedal have a volume drop when you cut her on?? i had a boss tremolo pedal that did; just wondering if the carl martin had that annoying habitnot buying another pedal until i find a moderately priced one that doesn't volume-drop.

love the green cases!! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

zzero: the Surf Trem doesn't seem to behave weirdly... someone here reported that it was "not a true-bypass pedal", but I never noticed any weird behavior turning it on (or off)... just easy-to-control-predictable-boring-old-school-tremolo-effect...

and that's all I was looking for in a pedal Yes

"shimmer" is a real accurate description...I play through a Silverface Fender Bassman, and the Surf Trem performs well with that amp.
