I think I need a serape and an ocarina player. But seriously, if you came to California from the Highlands of Central North America, from where the surf bands can be counted* on the fingers of Frodo of the Nine Fingers' left hand (when he takes off his mittens), and you all were looking for surf music, you all'd be out there optimizing your entertainment dollar, too. I am just grateful that Jeff gets his jollies organizing things like this and has the chops to do it. If I could figure out how to attend all three of those shows on Friday, I would. Last year I remember one night I made all of one and part of a second. It helps that I have been taking Jeff's crash course in the locations of LA bars for a couple years now.

Funny, it kind of reminds me of trying to schedule what talks you hit at the American Anthropological Association meetings. If the Q&A on the Ventura's set doesn't run over I can take the little escalator at the back of the lobby and get to El Segundo in time for El Ray's paper. In the past BTD (and HBK) have both provided me with LA street information critical to attempting to be at two shows the same night. I am really sad to be missing this convention and associated shows. Originally I planned to be in CA for the convention BUT our band got booked during this time for the record release party in support of our debut EP (Aug.11).
