These tracks take about an hour to make each. The drum parts take the longest(especially the fills) because I have to play them on a USB keyboard. The bass lines are easy, because most of the classics have simple, repetitious bass lines. I record the rhythm parts with my Jazzmaster into the computer through a USB preamp.

"Yellow Jacket" now added. This is the first back track I recorded with real bass, not synth bass. (just picked up a squier standard jazz bass on craigslist yesterday for $120).

JStern,
Fantastic work!
Any chance you could do Wipe Out. I play alone at home these days (for family reasons I cannot get out). Wipe Out without drums lacks a lot.
Talk to you later,
Norm

"Banzai Wipeout" now added. I recently purchased a Fender RI Reverb Unit, and plugged it into my USB rig, which I lined straight into Garageband. This is the first backing track I have done with real tube reverb.
Eventually, I want to do backing tracks for every song on the "Surf Beat '80" album. The playing on that album is absolutely incredible.

thanks very much JStern, excellent job on these Back Tracks. Which groups version did you do for Journey To The Stars? Any chance in the near future you can do "The Hearse" by The Astronauts. Thanks, HL
