Permalink Replacement SF Vibro Champ Speaker

New Topic

A friend is kindly sending me a speaker to put into my early 70s Vibro Champ. it's an 8ohm Jensen C8R 25W 8".

Twenty-some years ago when i got the amp, I think it had a no-name speaker in there, didn't sound very good. I went to an "authorized fender dealer" to order a replacement, and i got.. a "no name" plain old speaker. It doesn't sound half bad and i've had it in there ever since. And to be honest, i don't know if it's 4 or 8 ohm.

A stock speaker is 4ohm, this Jensen will be 8. So the power would appear to be about half. I certainly intend on putting the speaker in and put it to good use. I pretty much only use this amp at home for practice..

so thoughts on the 4/8 ohm difference? or how muhc better this will be over the "no-name"? We shall see!!

And thanks to my buddy for passing along the speaker -such a great guy!
