Consuela's Revenge by Pollo del Mar, probably our noisiest song, harmonically speaking. —Buy Endless Drummer @ Bandcamp |

I can only speak for myself, but I don't write music from a theory perspective either. I've never heard of anyone that does! Theory only means you have the ability to describe what you did after the fact if you so choose and may open some options if you get stuck- which can be very handy - but in and of itself, theory doesn't create anything. No one can play or write just from what they know. |

Portishead uses that chord too at the end of one of their tunes on their album "Dummy". Clearly a nod to Mancini and the James Bond opus. Number9 wrote: — |

Very nice tune, and pretty colorful harmonically. — |

Only about a third of our set is considered true surf music now. Our drummer and the ryth gtr/sax player and I am in a big band in L.A. together so we play other things like jazz combo tunes as well. We even can do Walk Don't Run the original way- like Johnny Smith wrote it (but only do it at home for risk of getting the Spinal Tap/puppet show thumbs down). Learn 7th chords and you can chunk your way though most swing charts! www.jetpackband.com Last edited: Jul 24, 2012 22:03:59 |
