Just finished watching British comedy Black Books. Fantastic! It's amazing how many actors from Shaun of the Dead made cameos. And Simon Pegg guest starred in an entire episode.
Now we're watching The IT Crowd, which is even better. Still watching Doc Martin, too. If there were more American shows as good as these, I might be inclined to watch. Anyway, I highly recommend all three shows.

Man, Spaced was so good. I saw it years after seeing Shaun of the Dead and it's followup. I was amazed to go back to those films and see so many references to the Spaced series. Like most British shows, it was entirely too short lived.

There's a followup/sequel to Shaun of the Dead?
I'll add Spaced to the Netflix queue. Thanks for the tip.

So we watched the first episode of Spaced the other night. Given the cast, I really wanted to like it. It just kind of flat-lined through the entire episode. It was fun picking out all of the Shaun of the Dead cast members as well as Bill Bailey from Black Books, though they were just cameos. Otherwise, it just didn't go anywhere. Please tell me it gets better...

Yes to both! They look like they're going to be great seasons, I'm especially stoked for Breaking Bad.

An event that became a major element of my childhood. The 7'th game of the 1960 World Series between the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees, currently showing on ESPN Classic. It's one of the legendary games of the World Series and its finish is as good as it gets. I was 8 years-old then, and it's the game that solidified my love of baseball.

Watching season 11 of The Simpsons on DVD that I found for cheap yesterday... Didn't make it further than the third episode. The series turned impressively crappy after season 10.
Deepeddy made me want to watch Black Books (yet again) instead. I'm a sucker for British comedy.
Anybody want to buy a mint Simpsons season 11 DVD set? Trade you for a set of .11-.52 Hell, I'd even trade it for a worn out novelty pick. It's that bad.

Drive was amazing. Watched it twice this weekend. First film in several years(new or old) that has really excited me. Well written, well shot, well acted. Should have won some Academy Awards, especially considering the competition. Less mediocre than past years, but not as bad as previous years.
From the director that made Bronson and Valhalla Rising, two other excellent films.

On Netflix(Roku) t.v. shows: Stargate SG-1, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Psyche, MI-5 are all in the queue right now.
Just watched "Winter's Bone". Really good.
I am SO BUMMED that my Dish Network dropped AMC that airs the Walking Dead! I was really looking forward to the new season.
I also watch every SF Giants game I can. The only sport I follow closely.

Ted,
I really enjoyed Spaced. It has been years since I watched it, but I do remember that the characters got much better developed as the series went on.

Well, as of last Sunday your problems are over. Dish now has AMC back.

I have all intentions of FINALLY sitting down and watching Prometheus tonight after band practice.
I recently managed to find the time to finally watch The Wicker Tree, the spiritual successor to the original Wicker Man, written and directed by the original creator. The magic just wasn't there.

Jeff and I are watching Pink Floyd's movie "The Wall" 1982. After a hard day at work, 2 Newcastle beers and 2 Italian sausage sammichs and Taco flavored Doritos, he'll be asleep in 10 minutes.
