Established Milwaukee area instrumental surf band is seeking a second lead guitarist to join our group as work for hire.
High profile shows for this year include Summerfest, Sizzlin' Saturday and RumbleFest in Stevens Point. Our set consists of 50 songs, both original and covers. We released a 7" vinyl EP record last year, have songs on iTunes and an 11 song CD. We have a nice size fan following and gig out at least twice a month. Instead of bars, we prefer to play festivals, parties and corporate events, as these venues pay more and the hours are reasonable.
The successful candidate would need to learn our songs (both lead and rhythm parts) and be available to perform for upcoming shows. We try to rehearse at least once a week either on a Saturday morning or Wednesday evening.
Our requirements: We are a family oriented band, so if you do drugs or are a heavy drinker, please don't bother. You need to have reliable transportation and equipment and be a self-starter -- meaning, we don't baby sit people. Also, you should be flexible and not need the permission of your significant other to practice or play a gig. The group is made up of veteran musicians in their mid-forties. We're all laid back and ego free. Again, our sound is instrumental surf rock. Lots of reverb guitar with a retro look and vibe.
