I have begun the task of loading in 3 days worth of videos I shot at the SURFER JOE SUMMER FESTIVAL 2012. Included are some of the "surf jams" in the SURFER JOE DINER after the "main" shows outside were finished -- lots of treats there for instro surf-beat fans!! I will also create a large FLICKR set of pix that I shot over the 3 days. Might get to that this evening (if the jet lag doesn't overtake me). So, as they say ... Unsteady Freddie goes where most of us can only wish we could. Then he films great videos of the people and music there. It's not almost as good as being there; the food, the sights, the fellowship, the exhaustion don't come with the vids. BUT, if it weren't for Unsteady Freddie, the rest of us would only be able to imagine how great these events truly are. Where are the keys to your Tardis? —This is Noel. yeah MESHUGGA BEACH PARTY are a hoot!! and a powerful force on a live stage!! "stole the show" ?? well, they were certainly stand-outs!! Not sure if any particular band "stole the show". But be assured that Lorenzo Surfer Joe and Luca & Company once again put together a terrific Festival of phenomenal bands!! I so wish THE LONGBOARDS did not cancel out. They were one of the bands I was really dying to see LIVE. What happens at these Festivals (for me, anyway) are the bands whose music I am barely familiar with, and I get to hear/see them for pretty much "the first time". That's what I most always look forward to, as it confirms for me how amazing the instro surf-beat genre is, and....HOW LARGE IT IS, WORLD-WIDE!! Bands that fit this "first time" status and who totally blew me away were THE TOMOCATS, BANG! MUSTANG!, LES CHEFS, and DIRTY FUSE. Just because I didn't mention a band just now doesn't mean, ipso facto, that I didn't enjoy their performances.... By the way at the lower portion of the 2012 FESTIVAL website there is an ongoing 'slideshow' of photographs taken by the photographer(s) hired by Lorenzo.
