I saw one of these pop up on kijiji, so I snagged it.
I watched the pro guitar shop demo of this pedal, it sounded pretty good.
I haven't tried a Boss FRV-1 or any other reverb pedal before.
I find there is a slight volume drop when engaged, but it does the drip sound pretty good.
What's anyone else's thoughts?

I'd say it compresses the tone rather than dropping the volume, but I know what you mean.
I found it to be more 'musical' than the Boss FRV-1, just a slightly nicer tone overall, although it wasn't quite as dynamically responsive as the FRV-1 nor as athentically 'splashy', so for purists, there's a compromise I guess, but not much.
Plus with the Spring Theory, you get the unique Room mode, which kind of swells and loops back on itself as you crank the decay, whereas with most reverb pedals it would just become a kind of small 'Hall' sound.
Brian at Subdecay uses Harmony Central effects forum, and is a great guy to deal with. I'd be interested to see if a 'deluxe' version comes out at some point in the future.
